They will be starting the season with Aaron Dell as the back up who's never played a game in the NHL but played pretty well for the Barracuda last season. He passed up Troy Grosenick who did not play very well last year on the depth chart. The sharks also signed newcomer Mantas Armalis from the SHL who will be fighting with Grosenick to be the first call up if Dell falters.

Good blog Steve. I really think Boedker will have a career year with the Sharks. He is much better than people give him credit for. He was a constant threat until he was seriously injured in Phoenix and with a very small supporting cast. If he plays with Thornton or Couture he will put up career numbers. I hope he lines up with Couture as that may be a better fit and Logan will score more goals. Boedker is an excellent playmaker and can score too. Going to love him in the shootouts as well.

Does San Jose overplay their goalies like the Kings? If they do I don't see a problem with the Sharks backup issue if Jones is healthy.

They did last year because Stalock was almost a guaranteed loss every time we played him. It wasn't til we picked up Reimer that we were able to rest Jones more which may have been more important for our playoff run than many people realize. I think ideally they would like for Jones to play around 60 games but I'm sure he'll end up playing more, probably close to the number of games Quick plays. That's something I'm not too excited about come playoff time.

Boedker is going to be a hell of a player. I have been a big fan of him for years. I was hoping LA would try and get him. SJ makes out good with getting him.
